Hybrid Broadcast Broadband Television is a technology platform that combines television and Internet services. This work proposes an approach to deliver auxiliary web-based content through broadcast applications

Vpliv registracije na strukturiranje RCS storitev
In the paper we analysed the impact of the registration on the structuring of the RCS services. Using real test-bed we made analysis on three application servers and three different configurations. We analysed traffic
cost for four call-based and non-call based services for cases when there was less than one registration in the busy hour to up to six registrations in the busy hour. The results show that the traffic cost for such cases cause an increase in required processing capacity by a factor of 1.7 to 1.9. However, if we at the same time change configuration with no application servers to the configuration with three application servers, needed processing capacity of the whole configurations can be increased by a factor of 9.7.

Podatke nadzornega sistema, ki spremlja kvaliteto storitev in kvaliteto uporabniške izkušnje, se lahko poveže tudi z drugimi zunanjimi podatki in tako ugotavlja številne korelacije z dogodki, ki niso neposredno povezani z nadzorovanim okoljem.
Tak sistem, ki v realnem času nadzoruje IPTV promet, je bil vzpostavljen v sodelovanju Laboratorija za telekomunikacije in Telekoma Slovenije.

Zasnova opozorilnega sistema na odstopanje storitev GNSS

During the maximum of solar cycle some harmful events can be observed. Their effects might disrupt normal operation of satellite communications by changing the signal propagation path, causing computer errors and destroying vulnerable hardware. The ongoing research project “Determination and evaluation of irregular solar activities’ impact to satellite positioning” (2009-2013, funded by ARRS) has a goal to pin-point those massively used location based services for positioning which might be degraded due to increased solar activities, and, to explain how strong this impact may be. This paper will outline the emerging concept of warning system by introducing its inputs, possible outputs aligned to service classes and the evaluation of threat during the last period since the year 2000.

Low Cost Video on Demand Platform Based on Open Source Software

Video on demand servers are complex, expensive and inappropriate to be used in low-budget environments. This work proposes an approach to use an open source web server and an open source content management system as a video on demand platform for public web purposes. Pseudo-streaming over the hyper text transfer protocol is introduced with the supporting web server features. A practical implementation of the solution is provided with the extensions made to WordPress content management system.
